“Family gathering”
Reviewed 19 November 2012 NEW - Excellent

I had the pleasure of eating at Jollies at The Canal Inn with nine other family members. The food was excellent, as was the service. My son (10) enjoyed the mussels, whilst I had the best roast beef I have had in a long time. For dessert, the chef and co-owner suggested a mixed shared plate; the five different desserts were first class.

This restaurant has only been re-opened for 2 weeks. It deserves to succeed. Good luck.

“A great new pub restaurant to try just outside Taunton”

Having noticed the new look and vastly improved exterior of the pub, we decided to visit Jollies at the Canal Inn in Wrantage for a birthday lunch. What a good decision - it proved to be the perfect venue. There is a friendly and warm welcome from Jay and Ollie and Josh cook to perfection! The pub is now attractive, warm and comfortable with a lovely atmosphere. The menu is imaginative and each course beautifully presented (although the goats cheese starter was joined somewhat late in the day by the beetroot!) and tasted delicious. It's so refreshing to find such a young and enthusiastic team producing such good food. They deserve to succeed. Much as we would like to keep this place a secret for our use only, we are recommending Jollies to all our friends and are looking forward to our next visit. Thank you Ollie, Josh and Jay for making Pam's birthday very special.

“A touch of class!”

Visited Jollies with friends for a birthday celebration and had an amazing time. The ambience was perfect and decor extremely pleasant. But by far the best asset of this restaurant is its phenomenal food. I eat out a lot and thought this place was up there with one of the best - the flavours were spot on and the presentation like a work if art. I had the sea bream and it was truly awesome. The chef came out to see what we thought of the food at the end if the night and it was a pleasure to shake his hand and say thanks. We don't often get food like this in Taunton - but thank god for Jollies. I can't wait to go back.
